A beautiful Romanesque church with its own bell tower and parish house has been sympathetically converted into this lovely home - Pulchellus Carpine. Following a three year restoration project, faithful to architectural and historical criteria, the owner, an art collector and historian, has created this delightful country home in the stunning and unspoilt region of Lunigiana in Northern Tuscany.

From its tranquil setting one can enjoy views to the Apuan Mountains whilst the various  secluded corners of the gardens include a picturesque, shaded courtyard with sensational acoustics, within the ruins of a church - the setting of many a musical soiree!

Inside, the house is enchanting with its collection of antiques from a number of countries, including Mexico, as well as a fabulous art collection. The main house is on three floors with impressive living rooms and a splendid, spacious library on the first floor leading through to the church. In addition to the two double bedrooms in the main house there is  an annexe, accommodating two, next to the swimming pool.

Charming reading areas and terraces throughout make Pulchellus Carpine a wonderful hideaway from the outside world and a place in which to step back in time to another era. Nearby is the small village of Gabbiano with small shop and trattoria as well as the surrounding and inspiring scenery of Lunigiana and the delightful villages of the Cinque Terre down on the Ligurian coast. Sant Andrea is a stunning villa for honeymooners or friends alike - a special and unusual find in the heart of untouched Lunigiana.
