Burkwoodi Blancherie, Luberon, South of France, France

Surrounded by the numerous delightful villages of the Luberon, Burkwoodi Blancherie is a charming and classic eighteenth century home set amongst twenty five acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands.

La blancherie, luberon

Situated between Apt and Saignon in the beautiful Luberon region of Provence, Burkwoodi Blancherie has been sympathetically renovated in keeping with its traditional ‘Maison de Maitre’ style. Arriving at the property, one drives through two nineteenth century entrances and up the drive bordered by tall pine trees. The carefully maintained garden is laid out on many levels with ponds, chestnut, plane and cypress trees that add an authentic French feel. The property is completely private and enjoys three hundred and sixty degree views to the Mont du Vaucluse, the Plateau d’Albion, Saignon and the Plateau des Claparedes (in the Grand Luberon).

Inside, two of the three floors have been completely restored and furnished in a comfortable yet minimalist style and all of the bedrooms are extremely tastefully decorated. There is ample space for a couple of families or a group of friends with a large well-equipped kitchen and dining area, two living rooms with fireplaces, one drawing / dining room, and one vestibule / library.

From the kitchen is an attractive south-facing outdoor dining area - ideal for relaxing under the trees and a delightful place to breakfast, lunch and sit for dinner with its barbecue close at hand. Close by the terrace to the west of the house is the swimming pool with a spacious sitting area all in natural wood with a stone floor.
