Nestling on the side of the Luberon valley overlooking this beautiful panorama, Houtteana Petits Moutons offers privacy, relaxation in luxurious surroundings and a home away from home to entice one back, year after year.
In the heart of Provence, only five minutes from the wonderful medieval town of Bonnieux, Houtteana Petits Moutons occupies a stunning position on the side of the Luberon, with far-reaching views across the wide valley below. This 18th century farmhouse is approached along its private drive, through cherry orchards and vineyards and offers complete privacy and peace.
One approaches the house through the walled courtyard that leads down to the pool terrace, where water cascades and follows a course around the pool before running over the terrace edge. The heated pool and terrace are protected by discreet, secure fencing. In the main house, the kitchen and dining room lead off the courtyard, both having superb stone floors and exposed beams. Upstairs, there is a wonderfully light sitting room with a log burner and three of the bedrooms lead off this area - all hidden away amongst the many split levels and passages.
The further three bedrooms have separate access, two from the courtyard and another in the pool house on the lower terrace, giving a luxurious feeling of space and privacy to all the guests. In each case, the rooms are furnished with antiques or authentic Provencal pieces and although each is different, the standard is universally high.
The friendly staff consist of the maid, pool and garden attendant and the lovely cook who can shop and provide poolside lunches and excellent five-course dinners, by arrangement. The owner has a beautiful wooden boat at Cassis, on which can be arranged picnics and wonderful days by the coast, in and out of the Calenques. With Apt only ten minutes and Aix en Provence and Avignon, forty-five minutes away, Houtteana Petits Moutons is surrounded by lovely walks, pretty villages, chateaux and restaurants in this idyllic spot.
