Broussoneti Kasbah, Ouarzazate, Atlas & Desert, Morocco

Stunning and spectacular, Broussoneti Kasbah is the ultimate setting for an enchanting and exotic Moorish houseparty. A magical enclave seemingly on the edge of the desert with exciting colourful days followed by luxuriant fire lit nights.

Originally built by Sir Angus Ogilvy for Princess Alexandra, on the glittering shore of Lake Ouarzazate Broussoneti Kasbah is a wonderful setting for an enchanting and exotic, Moorish houseparty. Lately, the house has been lovingly refurbished and modernised and is perfect for a group of friends or family seeking relaxation with a touch of adventure thrown in.

The beautiful and captivating Sahara is just to the south and with the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the north Broussoneti Kasbah conveys a complete Moroccan experience. It is built in traditional Moorish style with four separate buildings  joined by the external kasbah walls so that guests can enjoy as much, or as little, privacy as they wish. There are balconies or terraces for each suite in addition to the larger pool and lawn areas so that the party can come together or relax in solitude within the Kasbah’s enclave - the many roof terraces provide spectacular places from which to watch magnificent sunsets over the lake.

The delightful gardens, heated swimming pool and private clay tennis court, are all at guests’ disposal and the staff are so incredibly friendly and charming - part of the character and feel of the house - that one feels completely welcome and at home. The chef provides delicious French and Moroccan cuisine, served by the pool or on the verandah beneath the shade of climbing plants there are stunning views across the impossibly blue lake to the desert landscape beyond; and in the evening the jasmine-scented terrace, heated by an open fire against the cool desert night, is a magical place to dine. The bedroom suites provide familiar comforts in their Moroccan-English fusion of decoration - a fine contrast to this beautiful, wilderness location.
