To the east is Monte Cetona and to the west towers the five thousand foot high peak of Monte Amiata. Montalcino and Montepulciano, famous producers of Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are nearby as are the delightful towns of Pienza and Cetona.
Plicatilis d'Orcia is a beautifully restored farmhouse with exposed beams and beautiful terracotta floors, while stone arches divide the interior spaces. The interior has been luxuriously and tastefully furnished. Fabrics and hues of cream, ochre and blue blend harmoniously with the natural colours of the area, creating a real sense of well-being.
