Camargue is an hour away through the Alpilles and Arles and Gordes, Rousillon and Bonnieux are all close by. The great vinyards of Chateauneuf-du-Pape are just to the North and the Roman theatre at Orange - in fact, one is surrounded by an unlimited number of fascinating historical sites. Golf, horse-riding, tennis and fishing are all minutes from the hotel, whose own heated swimming pool and fitness centre are of course available, whenever one tires of breathing in the peaceful atmosphere of Les Frenes and the magic of Avignon.
