The Goring, London, England, British Isles
Quintessentially English from the faux sheep in every room to the perfect service and traditional decoration, their hospitality is second to none. The Goring and its sheep wait to welcome you!

Quintessentially English from the faux sheep in every room to the perfect service and traditional decoration, The Goring has been in the Goring family since 1910 when it was built. Immediately on completion, the building was commandeered by the American Army who thoughtfully redecorated it on their departure in 1918. Since then the Goring family have won OBEs and awards for their contributions to the hotel industry and it is easy to understand why.
Beeston Place is five minutes stroll from Victoria Station, just behind Buckingham Palace and indeed, the Crown Prince of Norway, when visiting the Palace in the ‘twenties, preferred to stay at The Goring because here, he didn’t have to share a bathroom! The hotel was the first in the world to have a bathroom en suite to every room.

Starting with the friendly greeting from the doorman there is a relaxed English atmosphere of attentive yet discreet service. This is a ‘home from home’ and there is a real sense of ease and comfort. The Garden Bar, overlooking the beautiful private garden - to which the guests have full access - is the perfect venue for meeting friends and one may relax in the lounge, leading off the bar without feeling ‘out of the action’. Morning coffee and afternoon tea may be taken on the terrace or in the lounge and the intimate dining room serves excellent English food with a few light continental touches.

Each of the rooms and suites are individually decorated in a traditional and sumptuous style. Everything is clearly of the very highest quality and spotlessly maintained by the diligent staff and room service is available twenty-four hours a day. It is the atmosphere which the staff create that is the most special thing here. As they say themselves: Cesar Ritz built The Ritz, the Claridges family founded Claridge’s and Mr Brown built Brown’s. All these famous hoteliers have sadly passed away but there will always be a Mr Goring at The Goring. Their hospitality is second to none, they expend over a million pounds a year in redecoration alone and now in the fourth generation of the family, The Goring and its enigmatic sheep are waiting to extend their welcome to you!
