Montpelier Plantation Inn, Nevis, Caribbean
Nestled in lush hills on the secluded island of Nevis, Montpelier Plantation Inn offers a sanctuary of breathtaking beauty far from the stress of modern life.

The small luxury hotel Montpelier Plantation Inn is considered to be one of the finest resorts in the Caribbean. From its terrace restaurant one commands views of neighbouring St Kitts and this pair of islands, in particular, seem to be the embodiment of the lush tropical paradise. The atmosphere here is an intoxicating blend of sunlight, sea air and fantastically abundant vegetation. At its centre stands the spectacular, cloud-fringed Nevis Peak, a dormant volcano covered by dense tropical forest.
The island of Nevis was first settled by the British in 1623 and Montpelier, a working sugar plantation, was witness to the marriage of Lord Nelson to Fanny Nisbet in 1787. Today the 30 acre estate is a secluded retreat from the hectic pace of distant shores. Most of the sugar fields have given way to tropical vegetation, though a small portion of land is still farmed for sugar that is used in the kitchens of Montpelier.

Guests delight in being able to slow down and spend the day re-invigorating themselves- there is the perfect balance of activity and relaxation on offer - relaxing by the fresh water pool, reading a good book on the Plantation Inn's private beach, playing a game of tennis or simply having a massage to unwind, the choice is yours. Seventeen cottage-style guest rooms sit under the towering palms in the bird-filled gardens. Luxurious, yet simple, each looks out to the wide ocean horizon.

Under the guidance of Montpelier's Executive Chef, Mark Roberts, the kitchen specializes in using locally grown produce and spices to delight the senses. From fresh squeezed juices at breakfast, to the daily lunch special and fresh made scones at tea time each meal is carefully and creatively prepared. Innovative classical cuisine is served on the terrace - the freshest seafood and local delicacies and produce from our own garden - amid tropical plants and flowers, overlooking the lights of Charlestown and St Kitts.
