Chalet Bear is one of the last remaining log chalets remaining in Klosters. Lovingly restored in 2005/6, it now provides every modern convenience within its traditional Swiss Alpine chalet structure.
Chalet Bear is within walking distance of the lifts and centre of the village and is situated up a little rise providing sensational views across the valley. It has four floors and sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. All the rooms have been beautifully and sympathetically decorated to provide a sumptuous environemnt, fully in keeping with the warm character of this exceptional Alpine home.
On the ground floor is a large dining room, with a new kitchen conveniently located at one end. There is a long table here, which comfortably seats 16 in front of a large open fireplace. It's a delightful environment for either long social dinners or easy family suppers. The utility rooms, including a guests' loo, are situated to the right of the staircase. To the left of the staircase is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom. This floor has been designed for full wheelchair access.
The main entrance to the chalet accesses the first floor. An entry lobby accommodates ski gear. To the right is a terrace, running the whole width of the house.
The first floor is centred around the main sitting room with its large, open, wood-burning fireplace. It is classically and very comfortably furnished providing a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. Views from all sides are superb. Adjoining it is a fully-equipped TV/audio/study room, which can also be used as an extension to the sitting room area when entertaining. There is also a small bar room with sink, dishwasher, fridge and glass storage.
There are two bedrooms on the second floor, each with its own bathroom, one en suite. Views and atmosphere in both rooms are exceptional. Both rooms are wood paneled. State of the art bathrooms have underfloor heating and large baths. The top floor comprises a large en suite, double bedroom and a bath/shower room. Exposed beam ceilings and an open fire give the room a very special atmosphere.
Chalet Bear is one of the most exceptional properties in Klosters, painstakingly restored and equipped by its English owner over the past few months. It is pristine and will be appreciated by those looking for a cosy, high quality, and sensitively designed, private family home in the umspoilt yet exclusive resort of Klosters.
