Assoanus Moran is a large house designed with space as a priority, but decorated with a Moorish influence, as much of the interior decor came from Morocco or the surrounding Andalucian shops.  Furnishings are all of the highest standard and include many carpets, kilims and paintings as well as a grand four poster bed in the master suite. The dining room is dominated by a large antique table above which hangs a traditional Spanish chandelier. An impressive hallway looking on to the fountain leads to a large sitting room, dining room and kitchen and there is a lovely terrace on which one can relax with a chilled glass of wine and take in the expansive view or dine al fresco in the mild evenings.

There is lots to do in the area from exploring the famous ‘White villages’ and Ronda with the oldest bullring in Spain to visiting Jerez, famous for its wonderful sherry. For active visitors there is horse riding and walking in the nearby nature reserves, golf at Sottogrande or wind surfing and kite surfing down on the coast at Tarifa. This property is situated in a delightfully unspoilt area and for those guests not wishing to stray too far from the villa then the local villages are fun and very friendly. There are plenty of good local restaurants or guests may prefer to do absolutely nothing and simply relax at the house with local produce and a chilled bottle of rosado!

We recently discovered a fabulous restaurant called 'Estacion' in San Pablo, 10 minutes' away where the tables are set up on the platform of a railway station through which trains pass every now and then! The food is superb.
