Connected by a series of grand archways, the ground floor reception rooms flow seamlessly together leading onto the terrace and pool with breathtaking views of the valley below and the 12th century Umbria fort of Rocca D’Aria.

Ciliaris Casale is very well positioned and the ideal house from which to explore the glorious towns of Umbria and Tuscany. Assisi, Perugia, Cortona, Gubbio, Arezzo and San Sepulcro are all within forty-five minutes’ drive and just a little further afield lies Spoleto, Siena, Todi and Orvieto. For a longer trip, Ciliaris Casale is equidistant between Florence and Rome - only two hours’ easy drive away along the motorway.


Ten minutes drive from the house is the medieval fortress town of Montone, recently voted one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in all of Italy! Montone has two very fine restaurants and an annual film festival in early July. A further five minutes’ brings you to Umbria, a charming working town with a large supermarket, banks and everything you could possibly require.

There is a wealth of cultural activity in the area with countless festivals which include international theatre and music in Spoleto, film in Montone, international jazz in Perugia and classical music festivals in Cortona, Citta di Castello and Magione, amongst others.

 

There are medieval pageants in Arezzo, San Sepolcro and of course the famous Palio, in Siena.

 

This luxury villa is a wonderful base from which to explore the  cultural diversity for which Umbria is renowned and whether days are spent in exploration or relaxing by the pool, this property is perfectly suited.
