Blanda Eliana sits on the western slopes of the Massa Lubrense in St Agata, commanding the most dramatic view over the Gulf of Naples and the islands of Procida, Capri and Ischia. Built in the 1950’s by Achille Lauro, Blanda Eliana was one of the first and consequently in one of the finest positions in area. Situated within one of the largest olive groves of the Costiera Sorrentina, the house is surrounded by greenery and remarkably few other properties.
One of the few villas guests are able to drive up to - most involve some small degree of mountaineering on this dramatic coastline - there is private parking within the flower covered grounds. Walking through the expansive ground floor out onto the terraces, the incredible view opens up with the infinity pool in the foreground. There are several terraces with sun-loungers, umbrellas and tables and this is the most amazing venue for lunches, cocktails and dinner parties. The terrace layout and bridge over the pool help emphasise the dramatic setting.
Upstairs are five Junior Suites, all in the typical Vietri-style tiling in different colours and each has a private terrace commanding a view over the entire Gulf of Naples. The open-plan living and dining areas are on the ground floor and then below this, seven more rooms complete the accommodation, perfect for a large party and ideal for a celebration. There is a professional kitchen, suited to ‘party catering’ and pretty much any service can be arranged for guests without fuss.
Eliana faces the most incredible sunsets behind the islands and although there are many things to do and places to see in the area - the famous Michelin-starred restaurant, Don Alfonso is just a few minutes’ away - guests will feel understandably reluctant to leave such a wonderful house.
