Okareka Lake House sits in its own estate of park-like gardens, astride a verdant peninsula jutting into thprivaet e lake. Perfectly private and with water to the front and back, views from the property are magnificent, up into the surrounding mountains.

The house and boathouse have been designed and built using native stone and timber, inside and out, to complement the surrounding scenery and produce a neutral colour scheme which is restful and perfectly fitting in this situation.

Local rocks and native flora and fauna feature prominently in the landscaped grounds and gardens which run down to the private beach at the front of the house from which the swimming is just perfect. The fishing is also perfect from anywhere on the edge of the property or from a boat and annual restocking of Rainbow trout maintains good numbers for anglers.

Okareka Lake House accommodates up to 10 guests in absolute luxury. There are four beautiful, spacious suites finished to the highest quality and fitted with all modern conveniences – individual air-conditioning / heating, sound systems and balconies - all with beautiful views. In addition, there is a master suite with sitting room, office, dressing room, spa bathroom and extensive decking areas but Global Artichoke will promise not to divulge any of this to your fellow guests!

There is a comprehensively stocked wine cellar, as well as library and home cinema featuring a large screen projection, DVD, VCR and stereo system. For that necessary communication with the outside world, computers and printers are provided as is a broadband Internet service and STD/IDD telephones and for those more leisurely moments, an outdoor hot tub, barbeque and plenty of terrace furniture are at one’s disposal. Spend days in endless watersports, touring the lakes by boat or scenic flight or simply relaxing at Okareka and drinking in the peaceful beauty of it all.
